Privacy
Last updated 22 October 2026. This policy covers the Cue app for iPhone, made by Jökull Sólberg.
The short version
Your scripts and videos stay on your iPhone. If you allow it, your voice is sent to our speech provider, ElevenLabs, so the script can follow you and your captions can be timed. Cue has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
What stays on your iPhone
Scripts, recordings, clips, captions and exports are stored on your device only. We never receive them. Detecting your script's language happens on your device.
Your voice, if you allow it
Before your first recording, Cue asks whether it may send your voice for transcription. If you allow it:
- While you record, the audio is streamed to ElevenLabs so the script follows your speech.
- When you finish a take, its audio track (not the video) is sent once to ElevenLabs, through a service we run on Cloudflare, to time your captions.
- Your script's language and a few of its words are sent along as hints to improve accuracy.
Cue doesn't store your audio, and it isn't linked to your identity — there's no account to link it to. ElevenLabs processes it under their privacy policy, which allows them to retain audio and use it to improve their models.
If you don't allow it, nothing leaves your phone: the script scrolls at a steady pace and captions are spaced evenly. You can change your mind by deleting and reinstalling the app.
Permissions
- Camera and microphone to record you.
- Photos (add only) to save videos you export. Cue can't see your library.
Children
Cue isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect their data.
